SURES は、非常に高精度で剛性の高い位置決めシステムです。 最大 500 kg の搭載物を高分解能 で調整およびセットアップできます。宇宙、天文学、望遠鏡の分野に特に適しています。 たとえば、地上の望遠鏡のミラーを正しく再調整して、重力の変化や夜間の温度変化による構造の変形を補正することができます。地上望遠鏡のほとんどは標高の高い山の頂上に設置されているため、SURES の機構と電子部品は寒冷環境でも動作するように設計されています。
